What maps are included in a full PBR material?
A full PBR material generated by TextureFast includes six maps: • Base Color (Albedo) — the surface color of the material without lighting or shadows. • Normal — encodes surface direction to add fine detail without extra geometry. • Height — represents elevation and displacement for parallax or tessellation effects. • Roughness — controls how smooth or rough the surface appears under lighting. • Metallic — defines which parts of the surface behave as metal versus non-metal. • Ambient Occlusion (AO) — adds soft shadows in crevices and corners for extra depth. Together, these maps give game engines and renderers all the information they need to display realistic materials under any lighting condition.
